The Flower Gallery has been family-owned since 1990 when the Piersons – who owned the funeral home next door – took it over. “My dad always wanted a flower shop,” says Rosie Root (née Pierson), who now runs the flower shop side of the business with her daughter Becky Walker. “It is very family-oriented. In this day and age of big corporations, family means something to a lot of people,” says Rosie.
Becky’s daughter helps out in the Flower Gallery and when Rosie's parents, Ches and Joan Pierson, come by there are four generations of Piersons in the store. “I think that sense of family and caring carries through,” says Rosie. Her son and brother now run the funeral home business. “I think we’ve grown to appreciate each other’s strengths. We have just learned how to work together.”
“There is a lot of pride,” daughter Becky adds. “To keep it going and to strive to make it more successful and more profitable is definitely extremely important, I feel.”
We recently purchased some flowers for a wedding ceremony from the Flower Gallery. They had everything we needed and kept it within the budget! They were quick to take our order and had it deilvered when they said! Thanks again guys we really appreciate everything!
