Café Solaris, banners hang from the ceiling, murals on the walls with large glass widows showcasing the busy activity on the street. Large screen TV's with sports filling the airwaves, you can't help but breathe the adrenaline. Football, hockey, soccer, baseball, whatever flavor the day brings. Meet the owner

Since 2009, Roberto Areosa and Giovanni Pellegrino have been the proud owners of Café Solaris, a sports bar on Decarie Boulevard in Montreal. The longtime friends are both from the borough of Côte-des-Neiges, so it made sense for them to go into business in a neighbourhood close to friends and familiar faces.

Giovanni is an experienced administrator, having held management positions at Loblaws and Maxi for a number of years. After awhile, he felt the need to pause and take stock of his career. As his family already worked in the restaurant business, Giovanni was naturally drawn to it. "I started to explore the world of restaurants, starting right at the bottom," he says.

As for Roberto, he was already working as an employee at Café Solaris when the then-owner was looking to sell. He saw a golden opportunity and agreed to embark on the adventure with Giovanni.

    Really amazing food especially their Pizzas at very reasonable prices. We eat there regularly for lunch with co-workers and everyone is satisfied.
