I love Louis' french onion soup. I've been going to Louis for many years. Their Greek salad is also amazing; however I feel like the quality of the salad has gone down a bit over the years.
This is one of those old school family restaurants that serves hearty comfort food at more than reasonable prices. I recommend the Chicken Caesar and the fries with gravy. They actually warn you about the amount of garlic in the Caesar salad!
After reading all of the great reviews on the Caesar Salad I just had to try it.
I found it funny when the waitress warned us as we ordered that it's VERY garlicky. I knew this already and found it humorous.
I order a Chicken Caesar and it comes with a garlic butter brushed baguette.
The Salad is very good and definitely has bite but as I was finishing my plate I was ready to be done with the Garlic... and I am a huge Garlic lover. The unfortunate part is that you literally only taste garlic for the next day or two no matter how many times you brush your teeth, use mouthwash etc... Not a pleasant garlic aftertaste either - more like you would rather never eat Garlic again when you wake up in the morning with the taste of Garlic in your mouth.
The food was great around the table, and I will return to Louis as I enjoyed the menu they offered but next time I will pass on the Caesar.
They do offer an all day breakfast as well.
Louis II is by far the greatest restaurant this side of Santa Claus . . .amazing prices, amazing food, and Louis himself even come out of the kitchen to speak with me personally.
