Family ate their a couple of times. The owners and staff are pleasant. We found the food expensive and sandwich soggy and ok quality. The sauce was not great. I will go back again when we are really hungry as the portions are big and the sandwich is good but not great. Hours of business are not good..
I am very surprised with some of the comments I have been reading, I have had almost every sandwich on the menu and have enjoyed every bite of every one. Yes it is messy, but aren't all delicious foods messy, ice cream, melting chocolate. This last time I was there I had the sauteed vegetable, which happens to be my favorite, absolutely delicious. I don't get to go there often as I live in Bowmanville and it is a long drive to north Oshawa, but even though the gas price is high, I have to make the drive occassionally. Well worth the time the effort and the price.
As we sat eating our incredibly soggy sandwiches, we could see the girl who had just taken our money go into the back area - which you can plainly see from the eating area. She proceeded to make a sandwich for someone without first washing her hands or put on gloves!! She was grabbing ingredients from a jar with her hands and continued by putting chicken on the sandwich then ate a piece of the chicken from the sandwhich and licked her fingers before continuing - gross. She wasn't the friendliest person either - customer service skills were definately lacking. She yelled at us for attempting to take the tray with drinks on it to our table. She yelled TAKE THE DRINKS AND LEAVE THE TRAY!!!!! We found the place to be dirty also, floor hadn't been swept, tables not wiped, broken tiles.
I just love this place...I take a lot of my friends and co-workers here because I know I will impress them..the food is cooked fresh and therefore served hot hot hot! The owners are very nice and I am very surprised to have read some of the previous reviews that mention things like tasteless and overpriced. Where else can you get a homemade + cooked fresh sandwich for 10 bucks??? Yeah you pay for extra toppings but don't pizza places charge for extra toppings, heck even McD's charges for cheese and thats a buck for a thin slice of processed orange cheese!!! The other reviewers who find THIS food flavorless and overpriced because they charge for extra toppings obviously don't eat out much because The sandwiches taste great, plenty of flavor - the sauce rocks, we had a guy in front of us buying 3 containers of the stuff to take home!!! GO, it's great!
I consider myself to be a food lover. And when I frequent a particular restaurant, there's always a good reason. The food here is of excellent quality, the prices are reasonable -- considering most times you can get 2 meals out of one sandwich -- and a nice clean, pleasant dining atmosphere. The owner's (Dave and Julie) always make you feel like they're genuinely happy to see you. I would definately recommend anyone to try this place out!!
