I don't were you get all these coments we always go to this restaurant. They have great music in the Bar after dinner and the owner is not Greek. thanks Mario. thanks Ken
The menu was weird, most of the entrées being seafood at higher prices, the non-seafood options all seemed to be cheap sandwiches. The food was good, not great. The patio could be great, but for some reason what seemed like the better area facing the water was closed, while all patrons were seated in the area overlooking the parking lot. I'm willing to try the place again, but with some scepticism.
Awful, awful service. We were the only group inside and he could not handle us all. He would not accomodate our requests for drinks properly and when we asked for separate bills he refused and didn't even offer to do small group billings. Then he wouldn't even come back with the bill himself at the end, he made the waitress do it. We had to wait way very long for the bill to even arrive. He missed asking the guest of honour (25th wedding anniversary) for a drink order twice. His attitude was rude - and I found out later he was the owner!!! Needless to say the food was OK I guess. The veal my father-in-law ordered was tough, too much cheese on the chicken parmesean. The fish I had was fine though. I would not recommend this restaurant for a large group ever. I was very upset and disappointed as were the guests at the party. We left feeling like we were somewhat ripped off. If each of those 19 people told two or three other people, he would not be happy. I don't even feel like I can complain directly to the restaurant as he was the owner and didn't seem to care.
My honey and I have dined at The Waterfront for dinner (in the dining room) 3 times, and for lunch out on the deck in the summer a couple of times. The Caesar Salad which is made in the dining room is out of this world! I've had a couple of lessons and am trying to duplicate it at home! I have ordered the Prime Rib for each dinner just because it's so tasy! I feel like Fred Flintstone when it comes to the table. All of the staff are courteous, helpful, and know when to stop to chat and when to leave! Mario is awesome (owner)and makes each guest feel like they're very special. The Waterfront is my favourite restaurant in Pickering ... and I'm from Barrie!
